The Camera Doesn't Lie
A big part of my job includes overseeing community wellness programs (including programs to combat obesity). And, there are times I receive inquires from the media about it. Print and radio are no brainers. I can do those. But, if I'm asked to speak at a conference or do a tv spot... I'm terrified. I'm not actually one to be scare of an audience. After all, I'm a theatre major. But, to be the spokesperson for a company on their obesity initiatives and overweight seems like a problem. Last week I was called by a local station to do a spot on our lack of physical activity in the state. Of course, we are ranked number 1 in terms of LEAST active state. I couldn't even imagine me doing the interview. I kept thinking people were going to think how can their program help me if she can't even lose weight? She needs to practice what she preaches. We all know that the camera doesn't lie.
